Not many birds about town and only the very occasional distant vocalization of a
woodpecker or nuthatch channeling through the incessant drone of the city.
Try as I might I can't detect an approaching snowplow, although we could sure
use one about now. Can't hear any snowblowers either.

Despite the inactivity, now the trees are telling me things. Not so subtle
messages like this conifer showing me the way to Aruba. Ya, I know, I get the
message but the stars are not aligned in my favour but thanks anyway.

Don't go to Aruba.

Trees have secret lives and communicate. They're shifty and shouldn't be blindly trusted.
