Another art filter called the Paint Daub filter delivers a more textured and coarse effect than the dry brush filter previously mentioned. It sometimes boosts the contrast of the image and also darkens the shadow areas.  A sliding scale for brush size can dramatically exaggerate the effect until it eventually becomes messy. The filter creates colour blotches and this serves to distort a person’s face to preserve anonymity.
