The base of Colonel Danforth Park’s parking lot features the headway of a paved walkway that extends southward in meandering fashion offering views of Highland creek. This route is mostly suitable for a transport chair except for some rough spots where gravel prevails. At this time of the summer there are usually juveniles racing their bikes up and down the path even around blind curves. Less troublesome juveniles, such as Cedar waxwing and Vireos sometimes appear in the woods on either side of the pathway. Down at the mouth of Highland Creek juvenile Hooded Merganser are getting ready for their glory days.
