The bird migration was a bit slower than usual during April although I did manage to find a few interesting Warblers including one new lifer for me.

Hooded Warbler @ Richard Jones Park, Mississauga on 5/1

Kentucky Warbler @ Long Point Provincial Park on 4/30

Yellow-throated Warbler @ Guelph on 4/16

Fantastic! There are gems out there ... somewhere ... in the forbidden land. Thanks for sharing and good to hear from you again. But, let's be honest, your son took these shots, didn't he? I hope to see at least a few warblers in the street-side woodlot in the coming weeks. If I see activity along the street while escorting the walker I may be able to slip away for a half hour with rubber boots and station myself next to any one of the fallen trees and see what might show up. Most of the time I don't even have time to remove clothes from the washing machine and put them into the dryer before I'm needed for something. So far the woodlot has been dead except for the ubiquitous blackbirds, robins, chickadees and cardinals. Even the goldfinch are few in number and often completely absent. Lots of garbage though.

Wow, a hooded and a Kentucky in one trip? Remarkable. Congrats on your lifer.

Thanks everyone. I won’t have much time for birding during the May migration due to work commitments, so I was very fortunate to have found these during April.
